Why do we have a swim team? Especially considering that many of the kids are not from the community?? And the fact that I am kicked out of the pool I pay for several hours a day for practice not to mention the meets. Please. . .it is a waste of time and effort for our HOA. They need to be focusing on BIGGER issues.

Welcome Grinch,I hope it does not kill you that the kids have some fun for a few weeks a year. Another week and it's all over. I hope you are going to survive it.

Many of the Swimmers on the Swim Team ARE residents of Daniel Park! The 130+ swimmers and their families have had a great summer swimming and are grateful that a Swim Team finally was introduced to our neighborhood. The Swim Team Meets only affected 3 nights out of the entire summer and only impacted the early hours Mon. - Fri. for practice. These kids have worked hard from May until the last meet, July 5th, and I am proud to be associated with a neighborhood that has worked so hard to bring a swim team to our community (like other nice neighborhoods that have swim teams: Sugarloaf, River Moore, Appalache Farms just to name a few). I pay my HOA fees, too. Plus, I paid to join the team. Please don't ruin the fun for our kids by complaining. If you have kids, maybe they can join the team and the fun next summer!

I agree, I am in FULL support of our swim team even though this is our first year. One of the reasons you choose to live in a neighborhood that has a large pool is with the expectation of having a swim team so you don't have to travel elsewhere for one. We were VERY fortunate to get this team and it's coach's. The coach's are probably the best in Gwinnett county with YEARS of experience and LOVE working with our kids. They do this because they love the kids and the sport and give alot of their time to be here. I don't want to have to drive in traffic to let my kid swim on another team and it is a very short season. Like what has been stated above, only 3 home meets. Only 3 nights out of the whole year! Please don't ruin a good thing because you are not getting your way. There are LOTS of DP families that are benefitting from this team.

As a non-resident swim team parent, I'd like to thank DP for hosting our team. Having a team in your community can be a bother to those who don't participate. But we try to be as accomodating as possible - and it is only 3 nights and early mornings that the pool is unavailable. For the most part, DP has been very welcoming and we are grateful. It takes a lot of volunteers to run this program and you guys have really stepped up. I hope that more residents will consider joining us next year! Thanks again!

The best thing that has happened to us since moving to Daniel Park has been the wonderful addition of the swim team! My family has had a wonderful experience and an opportunity that not everyone gets. We've got great coaches and great kids having a summer that they will never forget. Please be patient with the swim team, I'm sure there are a few kinks to work out but for the most part it has been very positive for our community. Thank you

A special thanks to all who participated in Daniel Park's first season. The Gwinnett County Swim Championships were held at Georgia Tech over the weekend, and the Twisters placed 8th out of 50 teams participating!!!GOOOOO TWISTERS!
